John was a Farmer on the 1871 census and it shows his children as being Duncan, Hugh, Alexander, James, William and Margaret. I know that William was a mariner and emigrated to NSW Australia in 1888 where he died in 1907. I know that Duncan was listed as a mariner in 1871 also. The others seem to have been farmers like their Scottish born father John. As you can appreciate it is very difficult researching limited records in Nova Scotia from Australia and any help anyone can be would be appreciated.
