Did you have a relative who was a bank manager in Cuba by any chance? My parents had good friends who lived in Cuba at the time of the Cuban Revolution. His name was Charlie Tanner and he grew up in Westville with my mother. They had two sons. One son was quite a famous artist who studied at McGill University and went back to Cuba. He eventually immigrated to maybe Montreal. The other son is also somewhere in Canada. I don't even know if the sons are living or not. Maybe someone on this list from Westville area might know who I am talking about. Charlotte - Thanks for the sharing about a Charles Tanner of Westville. The story rings no bells with me but I have these two Charles Tanners', one of whom might fit your story. Dave Tanner =========================== Charles Ewart (?) Tanner born at Westville in 1901 to Thomas and Margaret (White) Tanner. He was still living in 1929 but no info after that. I have a note in his file that he never married and had no children, but no source for this. ============================ Charles Henry Joseph Tanner was born at Westville in 1896. His mother was a Melinda Tanner and he was connected to a "Hunt" family. I think he married a Mary Ann Gadson in 1921. He had a brother Arthur W. Both Charles & Arthur resigned from the railway in 1923 at New Glasgow.
