I have been able to find a John C Dewar, son of John and Christianna, born about 1841 who married and settled in Cumberland Co. so some of the Dewars there could be related. I know there was an Alexander Dewar, born in Scotland, who lived in Cumberland Co. His parents were Alexander Dewar and Nellie McNabb -- would you know whether they have a connection to "our Dewars"?
