According to family story they settled in Durham. Is Roger Hill a community in Durham or an entirely different place? John LAMBIE, born circa 1784 in Ayrshire, Scotland to James and Elizabeth, married Jean REID born 1781 in Kilwinning, Scotland, daughter of John and Jean. Jean died 27 Oct 1865 and John 12 Mar 1874. Did they have a family? In the 1838 census for Pictou Twsp I see a John LAMBIC who possibly could be this family. Also in the home was 1 male over 14 and three females over 14. In 1871, John - aged 87 -is found in the census of Roger Hill living with an Elizabeth T LAMBIE - aged 30, but what her connection is to him I am unsure as I don't have access to the image of the original to see if one was given. Found online in some Vital Statistics from the Colonial Patriot was a marriage of a Margaret LAMBIE to George Brown in 1828 but again, whether she is connected is unknown.
