Petitpas Visit Guest Book Hector W. Petitpas, age 86, of Raynham, MA. died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family following a battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Hester) Petitpas. He was born in Pictou County, Canada, and was the son of the late Abraham and Annie (MacLean) Petitpas. He was raised in Roxbury, MA. and lived many years in Randolph, MA. and Avon, MA. residing the last six years in Raynham. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the DAV in Brockton. He was retired from the U.S. Post Office. He enjoyed music and took an interest in playing various musical instruments. He also wrote poetry and won several awards. He enjoyed senior trips and playing bingo. He is survived by his children, Rose Powers and her husband David of Randolph, Ruth Jones and her husband Al of Brockton, Ann Prentice and her husband Rick of Carver, Louise Syyam of Duxbury, Patricia Gamerman and her husband Michael of Foxboro, William Petitpas and his wife Robi! n of Taunton, Katherine Flibotte and her husband Patrick of Plympton and Richard Petitpas and his wife Robin of Pepperell. He was also the father of the late R. Eugene Petitpas. He had 22 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Pearl Fiander, Katherine Cogdill, Rose Dugdale, Hilda Gangemi, Lillian Hollis, Evelyn Scherba, Isabelle Morris, Alice Curley, Daniel Petitpas, and James Petitpas. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at 10 at St. Marys Church in Randolph. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, from 4-7 p.m. at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Raynham, 244 North Main St., Raynham, MA 02767. Arrangements are by the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton.
