Born in Summerville, Mass., he was the son of the late Fraser and Annie (East) Thompson. He lived in Glencoe most of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Friars; a son, Donald, St. Paul's; two daughters, Helen (Mrs Terry Melanson), Bridgeville; Jane (Mrs Lloyd Matheson), Glencoe; a half-sister, Doris (Mrs Fran Dressel), Weedsport, N.Y.; five grandchildren. Funeral was held Thursday, Dec. 24 in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Rev. Edgar Dewar officiating. Burial was in Bridgeville Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Paul's Church.
