Stewart, Missionary of the Church of Scotland, Isaac Patriquin to Miss Catherine Gunn, both resident in Truro, N.S. 29 June 1861 - Died - At Brookside on Sunday last, after a long and painful illness, Sophia Usien w/o George Drysdale aged 66 years, leaving a large circle of relatives and friends to lament their loss. [ possibly Halifax Co.] 13 July 1861 - Married - At Boston, July 3rd by Rev. Phineas Stow, J.Franklin Nash of London Eng., to Amelia, eldest d/o E.C.Gourley, Brookfield, Colchester County, N.S. 27 July 1861 - Married -At Mabou, Cape Breton, 18th inst., by Rev. Alex. McDonald, John R. Miller of the Model School, Truro to Annie, d/o Hon. W. Keen. [ NOVASCOTIAN, of the 29th says: McKeen} Died - Suddenly, 25th inst., at his residence, Lower Stewiacke, Ernest Bancroft MacKenzie, in the 24th year of his age. Funeral from the Railway Station, Richmond on Monday morning, immediately after the arrival of the Truro Train, at 10 a.m. ----- friends are requested to attend. 03 Aug.1861 - Died - At Economy, July 12th., of putrid sore throat, Charles Oberly, adopted s/o Daniel and Anne MacLaughlin, aged 10 years. Also on the 13th of the same, Annabella, youngest d/o Daniel and Anne, aged 6 years and 9 months. 17 Aug.1861 - Died - At Londonderry, on the 5th July, Mark Patten Martin, aged 87 years. Killed in battle, near Harrisonville, Missouri, William Hill, Sergeant A3C Reg't of Kansas Volunteers, s/o the late John of Digby and Barbara of Truro, N.S. 31 Aug.1861 - Died - At Truro, on the 21st Aug. , Mary Ann, eldest d/o George Cook - At Londonderry, 17th Aug., John weir Esq., after a long and protracted illness, which he bore with Christian resignation, aged 75 years. His end was peace. { NOVASCOTIAN of Sept.2nd says: In the 76th year of his age - represented the Township of Londonderry in the General Assembly of this Province for 14 years.
