Born in Vorden, The Netherlands, he was a son of the late Jan Wilem and Wilemina (Smallegoor) Veenhuis. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, New Glasgow, and was a farmer until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, the former Hendrika Begieneman; two daughters, Gerry (Mrs John Van Zeumeren), Truro; Annabeth (Mrs John Dykstra), Durham; three sons, John, Upper Stewiacke; Hank and Marty, both of Union Centre; 26 grandhcildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Willem; a sister, Johanna; a brother, Hendrik. Funeral service was held Monday, Apr. 4 in Faith Baptist Church, Douglas Avenue, New Glasgow, Rev. Murray Miller officiating. Burial was in Union Centre Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Izaak Walton Killam Hospital. Posted for information only.
