(MacMillan) Walsh of Wellesley, Mass., died October 15, in Reston, Virginia, after a lengthy illness. Born in Scotch Hill, Pictou Co., she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Christeen (MacLeod) MacMillan. Mrs. Walsh lived in Wellesley for 48 years. She was a member of the Wellesley Congregational Church. She is survived by two daughters, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie (Mrs Russell Murray), Meadowville; Lena Gill, Pictou; one brother, Harold MacMillan, Haliburton. She was predeceased by her husband William J.; a daughter Louise; a grandson Billy; and a brother Herman. Funeral services were held October 17 at the Burtt Chapel of the Wellesley Congregational Church; the Rev. William Abernethy officiated. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery. THE EVENING NEWS - NEW GLASGOW, NS 28 NOVEMBER 1953 OBITUARY HECTOR GRANT OF MARSHY HOPE PASSES AWAY NEW GLASGOW - The death of Hector Grant of Marshy Hope occurred at the Aberdeen Hospital, Saturday afternoon after an illness of several months. He was born at Marshy Hope, a son of Mrs. Angus Grant and the late Mr. Grant. Besides his mother, he is survived by his widow, the former Nellie Robertson; two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Dana Germaine), Avondale Station; and Catherine (Mrs. Harold MacLaughlin), Aberdeen Ave., New Glasgow; one son, Rev. James Grant, minister at Durham; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Pushie), Marshy Hope; Catherine (Mrs. Lynch), Webster, Mass; five brothers, Archie, James River; Jack, Marshy Hope; Nowlan, Kansas; Huntley, Point Tupper; and Leslie, James River. A brother William was killed in the First World War and a sister May predeceased him a number of years ago. The remains are resting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Germaine, Avondale Station, until Tuesday, when they will be forwarded to Bethel Presbyterian Church, Marshy Hope, for the funeral service commencing at 3 o'clock, with interment in Glen Bard Cemetery.
