Born in Thomson Station, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Alexander Bruce and Clarinda Effie (Dixon) Hyatt. She was a member of St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, Springhill, the UCW and the IODE. She was a graduate nurse (1918) of the Victoria General Hospital, and worked with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for several years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs Marjorie Henderson, Pictou; four granddaughters; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lancelot; a stepson, Donald; a brother, Clarence. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 12 in A.H. Brown Home, Springhill, Rev. Parker Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date.
