Born in Whitney Pier, Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Mary Jane (Guthro) Timmons. She was a graduate of St. Rita Hospital School of Nursing. She nursed at St. Rita Hospital for several years before entering the Royal Canadian Army Nursing Service during the Second World War. She served overseas. Following the Second World War, she nursed at Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax, retiring to Sydney in 1969. She was a member of St. Anthony Daniel Parish. She is survived by four sisters, including Eleanor (Mrs John MacLean), New Glasgow; and two brothers. She was predeceased by a sister, Ethel; two brothers, Michael and Mick. Funeral was held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony Daniel Church, Rev. Douglas Murphy officiating. Burial was in the Resurrection Cemetery. Posted for information only.
