Born in New South Wales, Australia, he was a son of the late William and Catherine (Cox) Wallis. He was a resident of New Glasgow, most of his married life and a former resident of Scotsburn. He was a retired employee of Maritime Steel Ltd. and of Eastern Woodworker's Ltd., New Glasgow. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, and a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Sixth Heavy Battery Lingan, Cape Breton, in 1939, and later served overseas with the RCAF in England and Europe from 1940-45. He is survived by his wife, the former May Preston; a daughter, Catherine (Mrs Mike Kiley), Stellarton; two sons, Lloyd, Port Saunders, Nfld.; Ralph, Blandford, Lunenburg County; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Bourque, Halifax; a brother, Wilfred, Pictou; four grandchildren. Funeral service was held yesterday (Tuesday) at H.W. A! ngus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, Rev. Evelyn Carpenter officiating. Spring burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Scotsburn.
