Born in Green Hill, he was a son of the late Thomas and Olivia (Mann) Watters. He was a member of Green Hill-Alma United Church. He was a heavy machine operator, having worked for Warren Maritime Ltd. until his retirement. He was well known as a fiddle player throughout the Pictou County area. He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Gammon; four daughters, Catherine (Mrs Clarence Rae) and Deana (Mrs Darrel Parker), both of Salt Springs; Sandra (Mrs Vince Fortune), West Hill; Wilda (Mrs Victor Rorison), New Glasgow; four sons, Clarence, Scott and Thomas, all of Westville; Rae, Salt Springs; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sisters, Laura, Bessie, Eva and Georgina; an infant sister; two brothers, Edison and Vernon. Funeral service was held yesterday (Tuesday) in Green! Hill-Alma United Church, Rev. Peter Fraser officiating. Burial was in Durham Cemetery. Posted for information only.
