Born in Lourdes, she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Sarah (MacMillan) Scully. She entered the congregation of Sisters of Charity in 1927 and made it her religious profession three years later. During her 60 years in the congregation, she ministered principally in the field of education, beginning her career at St. Joseph's School, Reserve, and continuing in Halifax and Terence Bay, where she also served as principal and local superior. She later served as local superior of Academy of the Assumption, Wellesley Hills, Mass., until 1956. She taught for many years in area schools in Alberta, including St. Andrew's, St. Vincent's both in Edmonton; Westloch Public School. In 1969, she retired from teaching and participated in various activities and charitable work! s, until failing health obliged her to return to Mount St. Vincent Mother House's infirmary. She is survived by two sisters, Sister Helen Scully SC; Gertrude; a brother, Andrew; all of Halifax. She was predeceased by a sister, Sister Winifred Marie SC; three brothers, Richard, Thomas, John. The remains are resting at Mount Saint Vincent Mother House, where liturgy of the resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
