    1. [PICTOU-L] GORDON --- HELP WANTED
    2. I am looking for information about Donald Gordon who supposedly arrived in Pictou Harbor on August 1st 1803 with his wife Janet MacLean and their son Alexander who was born the day of their arrival. They later settled in Elgin and my records say that he was byrrued in the Elgin cemetary in 1827. I am trying to confirm that Donald and Janet's son Alexander married Margaret Campbell and that they had seven children Donald, William, Janet, John, Eliza, Isabella, and Simon Hugh. My confusion results from the fact that William, my great, great, great grandfather, lists his mother as Margaret Scott and that other records show Isabella as Annie Belle. Thanks to helpful researchers, I recently spoke with Edwin Gordon in Pugwash who provided my with information...much of it coincides but some does not. Are there any Elgin residents on line who might help me by checking references, records. Note that Alexander later moved to Rockey. I also think the name of the ship that Donald came on was the Commerce. I hate to record inaccurate info so this is very important to me. Many thanks for any help. Regards, Sharon Ossowski, Willis, Texas
