Cumming – New Glasgow – died at Aberdeen Hospital Sunday evening after a brief illness. He was born in Thorburn in 1890 son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Louis J. Cumming and had resided in New Glasgow for over 50 years. He had worked at the Acadia Coal Company as a blacksmith for 45 years and on the closing of the mine worked with the NSPC, retiring late last year. Mr. Cumming was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a member of Norton Lodge IOOF. He was predeceased by a brother and sister as well as daughter, Marion, in infancy. Surviving are his wife, Grace and two daughters: Frances (Mrs. Harry Rumley) – Merigomish and Chris (Mrs. Jack Miller) – Halifax, 4 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. His body as at his home where funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. Service will be conducted by Rev. H.M. Creaser. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
