Born in Birmingham, England she was the foster child of the late Mr. & Mrs. James Henderson. She was a member of St. Pauls’ Church, Merigomish, and the Ladies’ Guild and had been employed as a cook at Camp Geddie for 25 years. Surviving are five daughters; Alita (Mrs. Chandler Murray) and Anna Mae (Mrs. Ronald Nicholson) both of the Ponds; Loretta (Mrs. Arthur Arbuckle) – Malignant Cove; Norma (Mrs. Claire Mingo) – Tatamagouche; Doris (Mrs. Charles Arbuckle) – Lower Barney’s River; sons: James and Stewart both of Toronto; Harry, Leroy, Arthur, Kenneth, John (Jackie) all of the Ponds; 39 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The body will be at the home of her son, Harry Murdock, the Ponds after 7 p.m. today. Funeral will be held Monday at 2! p.m. in St. Paul’s Church, Merigomish with Rev. Kenneth MacLeod officiating. Burial in Murray’s Point Cemetery. (Note: she was the former Lucy Dearn)
