Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret (MacLeod) Ross. She was a lifelong resident of Westville and a graduate of the Aberdeen Hospital School of Nursing. She took post-graduate operating room training in Montreal and spent several years as operating room supervisor at Aberdeen Hospital. She was also superintendent of the old Aberdeen Hospital and director of nursing for the new Aberdeen Hospital until her retirement in 1975. She was a life member of the Aberdeen Hospital Nursing Alumni and the ladies auxiliary of the Aberdeen Hospital. She was a member and elder of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Westville, the Barbara MacKenzie Auxiliary and a member of Sir Frederick Banting IODE. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by a sister, Annie Laurie. Funeral service was Sunday! , July 10 in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Rev. James Grant officiating. Burial was in Gairloch Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Andrew's Memorial Fund or the ladies auxiliary of the Aberdeen Hospital.
