Donald Maclean Sinclair, 88, of 6296 Jennings St., Halifax, died Saturday, Mar. 12 in Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax. Born in Prince Edward Island, he was a son of the late Rev. Alexander Maclean and Mary Ann Sinclair. He was minister at Fort Massey Church for many years and subsequently minister emeritus at that church. Educated in Pictou County schools, he received a BA from Dalhousie University in 1921 and an MA in 1924. He graduated from Pine Hill Divinity College and did graduate work in New College, Edinburgh. He was ordained in 1924 in Linden Presbyterian Church and served the Linden-Northport charge. He retired in 1969. From 1940-45, he served as chaplain in the Royal Canadian Navy. In 1958, he was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration. He was past president of the Maritime Conference of the United Church of Canada, Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society and North British Society. He was a former member of t! he board of governors of Dalhousie University and the alumni board. He became a master mason in 1926. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Royal United Services Institute of Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Baird Jones; three daughters; three sons; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral service was Tuesday, Mar. 15 in Fort Massey United Church.
