Born in Bayview, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ella (MacDonald) Battye. She was a resident of Scotsburn for more than 30 years. She was a member of Scotsburn United Church, Scotsburn Women's Institute and Bethel Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by three daughters, Donna (Mrs. Mel Macdonnell), Patsy (Mrs. Elsworth Morrison), both of Smiths Falls, Ont.; Inez (Mrs. Dennis Gurnhill), Morrisburg, Ont.; two sons: Ronald, Millsville; Harold, Durham; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Verna (Mrs. Leslie Scott), Eureka. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald A.; an infant son, Robert; a sister, Alda. Funeral service was held today from McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Interment was in Seaview cemetery.
