He was tending the salmon nets when he was stricken. He was a member of the United Church, a member of the choir, and Norton Lodge IOOF Mt. Horeh encampment and Golden Link Rebekah Lodge. Surviving is his mother, Mrs Ewen D. Cameron, his wife the former, Pauline Schrader, one son, Roy, and daughter, Dorothy Ann, both at home, two sisters, Isabel – New Glasgow, Ann (Mrs. Hugh Williams) – Welland, Ontario. His body is at the home of his mother, Big Island. (Note: buried at Murray’s Point Cemetery, Lower Barney’s River)
