Smith, QC, 76, of Halifax, died Tuesday, Mar. 8 in Victoria General Hospital. He was a son of the late William G. and Matilda Smith. A retired lawyer, he was a graduate of Halifax Academy and Dalhousie University Law School. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of St. David, Halifax, and of the Saraguay Club. He was a former member of the Mayflower Curling Club and Ashburn Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Mary MacKenzie, New Glasgow; two daughters; four grandchildren; two brothers. He was predecesed by two sisters. The body has been cremated. Memorial service was Saturday, Mar. 12 in the Presbyterian Church of St. David, Halifax, Rev. John Pace officiating. Donations may be made to St. David's Memorial Fund or the Parkinson's Disease Society of Nova Scotia. Posted for information only.
