It matches up with what I have been able to find. I'll give you the whole story and see if you have any more information. My mother in law was raised as an orphan in New Glasgow. The family she was raised by gave her the name of Eleanor Violet Hale. We just recently came up with a copy of her birth certificate. It lists her actual name as Margaret MacKay. She was born in 1926 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Her birth parents are identifed as Carl Roy of Merigomish and Christine A. MacKay of New Glasgow. I am pretty sure that the Carl Roy in my messages is her father. I am trying to track down any information I can about her birth mother (Christine A. MacKay) and piece together the reasons she was adopted out and given a new name. I can find no evidence that Carl Roy was ever married. He moved to Philadelphia at some point and died in 1963 in Pennsylvania. I have requested a copy of his social security records that will hopefully answer a few m! ore questions. Any information that is available about a Christine A. MacKay of New Glasgow would be greatly appreciated. Tom
