December 2, 1987 - Elsie May Ross, 97, of Sunset Haven, New Glasgow, was buried Sunday, Nov. 29 in Kenzieville Cemetery, following funeral service in Barney's River Presbyterian Church, Rev. Patrick Maxham officiating. She died Saturday at home. Born in Barney's River, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Annie (MacKay) Ross. She lived in Barney's River until 1965, moving to Pine Tree for 11 years, and for the past several years lived in New Glasgow. She was a member of Barney's River Presbyterian Church and had been active in community affairs. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Alexander, John and Daniel; seven sisters, Grace, Flora, Willena, Katherine, Annie, Margaret and Mary Bell.
