Many folks know that I have been searching for an elusive Mary Heighton that married my ggg-Grandfather Samuel Redmond, sometime about 1840. I have never found out who's daughter she was, yet Family Bibles says she was Mary Heighton of River John/Cape John. My Samuel b. 1809 in County Antrim, Ireland arrived with his family in 1818. Now the question I pose is; Is it possible that Mary Heighton had been previously married and that Heighton was her 1st married name?? I have asked this before and no one believed so. A new angle has come up for me. Is it possible this Mary Heighton is actually Mary/Marie Maillard the wife of the 1st Heighton, Henry Heighton, in Nova Scotia?? Here are the vital statistics; Henry Heighton b. bef. 1760, d. 1815, m. abt. 1793 Mary/Marie Maillard b. abt 1776, d. abt. 1856 Samuel Redmond b. 1809, d. unknown Mary Heighton b. unknown, d. unknown I know this may be grasping at straws, but I am running out of ideas on finding this elusive lady. I would sure appreciate any insights on the forgoing idea. Thanks. Regards, R.W. Rick Redmond Chester, UK (formerly of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) rredmond@btopenworld.com
