Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late Ross and Helen (MacDonald) MacPherson. Prior to World War II he worked for Canadian National Express; later worked for Ferguson Industries and was a wharfinger for the Department of Transport until his retirement. Mr. MacPherson was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two brothers: Donald and Murray, both of Pictou. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ella Ross; and a son, Ross. His remains are resting at the McLaren Funeral Home from where funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Haliburton cemetery.
