    1. [PICTOU-L] Forward E-mail to Thibault -- Any More I can do?
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. Dear Muriel, I am grateful for all your work. Is there anything else I can do? I am enclosing an email I just sent to Thibault. You have my permission to use this in any other way to further the cause. Thanks from the Colonies, Peter Fraser Dear Mr. Thibault, I write to you urging your support and vote in favor of Bill S-12. I live in Calif. USA. I traced my Nova Scotia roots through my and other's efforts with use of Canadian Census Data. As it turns out my two Fraser lines and MacDonald lines all immigrated and lived in Nova Scotia until 1902 when my grandfather, Archibald Simon Fraser left for the States. Without the Census and other public data I would not have found out that my g-grandfather Angus Fraser donated the lands for St. Joseph's Parish in Antigonish and that Angus's oldest brother was Bishop William Fraser, Vicar Apostolic of Nova Scotia and Bishop of Arichat and who interred under the high altar at St. Ninian's Cathedral. Without this available information I would not have had impetus to travel to Nova Scotia this past summer - the first of my family to travel back to our Nova Scotia Roots in over 100 years. Notwithstanding the pride I have in my Canadian and Nova Scotia Roots, I can only add that I spent a week in Antigonish and Pictou Counties as do many, many others who travel back each year. Our collective travels help sustain tourism as well as our family heritage. As a representative of Nova Scotia I hope that you will come to understand the importance of keeping open the lifeline of our heritage - information contained in census records. As Minister of Fisheries and Oceans you might be interested to know that Bishop William's and my gg-grandfather Angus's brother, Alexander Fraser was a Master Mariner and Sea Captain, lost at sea off the Coast of Ireland while conducting Nova Scotia trade. Please vote for Bill S-12 and urge others to do so also. In the US we have Census Data available from the 1920 Census and the 1930 Census will be avialable very soon. Sincerely, A proud descendant of Nova Scotia and Canada, Peter Duncan Fraser FraserGate@aol.com
