Born in Bayfield, P.E.I., he was a son of the late John and Margaret McAulay. He had worked on the survey ships Acadia and Dawson, and also for Northumberland Ferries for three years before retirement. He was a member of Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret MacLennan; two sons, Kenneth, Pictou; Richard, at home; four brothers, Charles, Peter and Daniel, all of Montreal; Joseph, Bayfield; four sisters, Mary (Mrs Russell Poole), Souris, P.E.I.; Helen (Mrs Roy Burke) and Amelia (Mrs Lem Desdeauy), both of Charlottetown; Laura (Mrs Stanley Taylor), Montreal. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary; a brother, Elmo. Funeral was Monday, Feb. 15 in Stella Maris Church, Rev. Kyte Gillis officiating. Burial was in Seaview Cemetery, Pictou.
