Born in Janvrin Harbour, he was a son of the late Alphonse and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) MacNeil. A fisherman on the Cape Fortune, sailing with National Sea Products, Canso, he was a member of UFCW Local 1252. He was a member of St. Francis DeSales Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Jane Hill; two daughters; a son; two stepsons; eight sisters; two stepsisters, including Gertie, Pictou; a brother; a stepbrother; three grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (today) in St. Francis DeSales Church, Lower River Inhabitants, Rev. Robert MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, West Arichat.
