Born in Avondale, Pictou County, she was a daughter of the late Robert H. and Whilamina (Murray) Cunningham. A resident of Stellarton all her married life, she was a member of Sharon St. John United Church and the UCW. She was a former member of Stellar Ladies Curling Club. Surviving are two sons, Fred, at home; Arthur, Liverpool; three daughters, Ethel (Mrs James Park), Parks Falls; Margaret (Mrs Ted Montgomery), Clifford, Ont.; Gladys (Mrs James Hennigar), Stellarton; a brother, Jack, New Glasgow; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; a daughter, Elma; four brothers, Walter, George, Joseph and Fred. Funeral was held Sunday, Feb. 28 in Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, Rev. Norman MacDougall officiating. Spring burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.! Donations may be made to the Diabetic Association or Sharon St. John United Church.
