Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late John Henry and Catherine (MacDonald) McCarville. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by two sisters. Funeral was held in St. Theresa's Church, North Street. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations may be made to the Canadian Heart Foundation.
