thanks to everyone for replies re "mc" or "mac"...now on with my mission to see if Cariboo Mackenzies are related to Pictou/Greenhill Mckenzies. Does anyone know how the land was granted in that area...? I mean was land granted/settled FIRST nearer the water? thus, Cariboo and Pictou town and then progressively farther inland, and thus Greenhill?...I am wondering IF maybe the Cariboo Mackenzies were the ancestors of Greenhill Mckenzies. ??? thanks Liz of BC
