Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late David and Isabel (Ross) Nicholson. He was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, a member of the Elks Club and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, New Glasgow. He is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Whytewood; a daughter, Helen, at home; four sons, David and Chris, both of Nanaimo, B.C.; Patrick, at home; Todd, Halifax; five grandchildren. The body will be cremated. Family flowers only.
