Mitchell, 82, of Shubenacadie, died Saturday, June 18 in Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Cooks Brook, Nfld., he was a son of the late James and Annie (Ogilvie) Mitchell. He lived in Cooks Brook until four years ago, when he moved to Shubenacadie. He was a farmer and woodsman, and a member of Gay's River United Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Muriel Newman; a son, Greg, New Glasgow; a foster son, Kim Newcombie; two foster grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother; two sisters. Funeral service was in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Tuesday, June 21, Rev. Marilyn MacDonald officiating. Burial was in Gay's River Cemetery. Donations may be made to any charity.
