Hi Can anybody help me on the origins of the name of this Mountain. For those with an orienteering outlook Frasers Mountain is located at 45o35'37"N, -62o37'01"W in the New Glasgow/Pictou area of the Sunrise Trail, Pictou county. A map can be viewed at http://www.destination-ns.com/common/places.asp?PlaceID=2168 If it is named after "Mr Fraser" I would appreciate your thoughts on who Mr Fraser was, his name and any other detail you may have on him. Sorry Rod, Place-Names and Places of Nova Scotia says it was "probably named after early settlers, Archibald MacKay and Donald Cameron settled here about 1801....." Maybe if I checked the Grant Map I might see something. Can't do that till later as I'm off to work at the moment, Board meeting after work.... maybe late, late tonight.
