Born in White Head, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Edgar and Minnie (Monroe) Monroe (sic). He was a retired radio operator. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin and Ivan; three sisters, Helene, Goldie and Queenie. The body has been cremated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Trenton.
