Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late James P. and Marie C. (MacLeod) McGee. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and was a graduate of New Glasgow schools. He was attending Nova Scotia Teachers College at the time of his death. He was a former employee of Hawker Siddeley Ltd. and was employed as a computer instructor by the Pictou County District School Board for a summer. He was involved with minor hockey and baseball, both as a player and a coach. In the mid-1970s he was an official at the Festival of the Tartans field event, and in the early '80s he was an official at the Johnny Miles Marathon. He was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the New Glasgow Elks Lodge No. 226, and an associate member of the New Glasgow Legion. He is survived by three sisters, Willina (Mrs Wayne Hillinglaw), ! Toronto; Mary (Mrs Gordon Gardiner), Vancouver; Patricia, New Glasgow. Funeral service was held Saturday, Apr. 23 in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart Fund or the intensive care unit at Aberdeen Hospital.
