Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Amelia (Lister) Mabey. He was a member of Church of the Holy Name, Westville. He was a retired coal miner and he also operated a trucking business. He is survived by a daughter, Sadie (Mrs David Barnes), Saltsprings, Pictou County; two sons, Harold, New Glasgow; Aubrey, Stratford, Ont.; two sisters, Bertha (Mrs Clarence Sutherland), Truro; Mildred (Mrs George Jones), Victoria, B.C.; two brothers, James, Prescott, Ont.; Roy, White Rock, B.C.; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Pearl Dunn; a daughter, Margaret; an infant son, William; a sister, Florence; a granddaughter. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 11 in Church of the Holy Name, with Rev. J.H. MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Bee's Cemetery.
