HI Liz, From the 1901 census in Pictou Town, census district # 4, family #31: Henry G. Kayenburg, b. Dec. 09, 1850, married, Steward Sarah, b. Sept, 15, 1857, married Harry, b. Sep.02, 1879, barber Lottie, b. Oct. 22, 1882 Willie, b. Jan. 30, 1892 Jennie, b. Oct. 28, 1895 I've looked in the books Ships, Shipbuilders, and Seamen of Pictou County, Ships of the North Shore, and Ships and Seamen of New Glasgow, and don't see any entry for him in there. I think you are going to find this a tough one! Just a suggestion, maybe you could find a will, or property transaction for G. Kayanbergh in the Deeds office in Pictou (although it might be tough trying to get there from BC!) Hope this helps, Rick MacNeil, Toronto Harvie and Liz Barker wrote: > I am wondering how I might find info about a man, Henri Gustav > Kayenbergh who worked as a steward on ships...re 1891 & 1901 census of > Pictou town. > Is this a needle in a haystack?!...he may have started this work in > 1871 or soon after.
