Born in Hamilton, Ont., he was a son of Wendell and Ruby Margaret (MacKinnon) O'Brien. He lived in Pictou for the past two years, and had received his education in Hamilton. He was a member of First United Baptist Church, New Glasgow, and was employed with The Halifax Herald Limited, Halifax. He is survived by his wife, the former Cindy Ormrod; two sons, Jason Lee, Christopher Howard, both at home; two sisters, Maureen (Mrs LeRoy McAloney), Pictou; Marsha (Mrs Rick Welbourn), Lyons Brook; two half-sisters, Bernice Welton, Louise Gilbert, both of Parrsboro. Funeral was held Tuesday, July 26 in First United Baptist Church, New Glasgow, Rev. Morley Shaw officiating. Burial was in Abercrombie Cemetery. Donations may be made to Izaak Walton Killam Children's Hospital.
