Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Andrew and Josephine (Condon) Pushie. He was educated in New Glasgow and attended Acadia University. He worked for over 40 years at Hawker Siddeley Canada Ltd., Trenton, where he was cost accountant for several years and at the time of his retirement in 1982 was payroll supervisor. He was a member and senior elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, and served on the building committee. He was a member of Norton Lodge #6, IOOF, New Glasgow. He was a former member of Bluenose Curling Club and Abercrombie Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Lette (MacLeod) (Redden); three daughters, Mrs Jo-Anne Murphy, Lower Sackville; Lynn (Mrs Gus Fahey), Westville; Andrea (Mrs Milton MacKenzie), Pictou; two sisters, Marie Reid, Lachine, Que.; Ruth Fleming, New Glasgow; four stepchildren; three grandchildren; five s! tep-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Jean MacLeod; a grandchild. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday (today), June 8 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, Rev. J. Donald Mackay officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
