Born in Scotch Hill, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Nancy (MacBain) Cameron. She graduated from Stellarton High School, Pictou Academy and the Nova Scotia Teachers' College. She received her BSc in home economics from McGill University, winning a gold medal in her class, and following internship at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, obtained a certificate as a registered dietitian. She worked as a dietitian and teacher at the School for the Deaf and as dietitian at the IWK Children's Hospital and Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, and Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She taught school throughout Nova Scotia - Central West River, Old Barns, Round Hill, Mount William and Westville Road - and was a demonstration teacher and a supervisor of student teachers for the Nova Scotia Teachers' Co! llege. She was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton, the United Church Women, the Retired Teachers Organization of Pictou County, and McGill University Alumni. She is survived by her husband, Robert; a sister, Mrs Kay Luke, Burlington, Ont.; tjhree brothers, Archie, Pictou; Dr. Stewart Cameron, Stellarton; Dr. Donald Cameron, Sackville, N.B. She was predeceased by a brother, Dr. MacBain Cameron. Funeral service was Tuesday, Apr. 26 in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, Rev. Norman MacDougall officiating. Burial was in Alma Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
