Phillips, 82, Queen St., Westville, died Wednesday in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Wales, he was a son of the late William and Rose Phillips. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Westville, and of the Hamilton, Ont. Masonic Lodge. A retired employee of Westinghouse, Hamilton, he was a resident of New Glasgow for many years before moving to Hamilton. He returned to Pictou County eight years ago. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs Ada Roy, New Glasgow; Mrs Vera Keenen and Mrs Dorothy Gray, both of British Columbia; Phyllis (Mrs Donald MacDougall), New Glasgow. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Hazel Williamson; a sister, Roney; two brothers, Brinley and Ivor. Funeral was held Friday, Apr. 8 at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, Rev. James Grant officiating. Burial was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
