    3. 21 Sept. 1857 - Died - At Gay's River ,1st inst; between12 and 1 o'clock a.m., Mary, in the 74th year of her age, a native of Devonshire, England,relict of the late Thomas Millar, of inflammation of the lungs, after a severe illness of 10 days. 03 Oct. 1857 - Married - At Onslow,28th Sept., by Rev. Henry Charlton, Edmund W. Hamilton, to Miss Harriet N., youngest d/o Simeon H. Blair, both of Onslow. - Died- At Truro, on the 1st inst; of whooping cough, Frank W.D., s/o John Burnyeat, Esq., aged 4 years and 5 months. - A gentleman from Londenderry informs us of the following lamentable occurance- William Vance, of Masstown, Londonderry, left Economy on the 22nd of August, entirely alone in a large sailboat, for his home, and has never been seen or heard of. It will be remembered that Saturday, the 22nd Aug; was a very stormy towards night and there is no doubt the boat floundered- COLONIST. 24 Oct.1857 - Married - On Wednesday evening, by Rev.P.G. McGregor, Daniel Fisher, Middle Stewiacke, to Miss Emma Carter, of Halifax, N.S. On the 14th inst; by Rev. James McLean, James Woodworth, of Shubenacadie, to Miss Charlotte McDonald, eldest d/o James, Esq; Railroad Contractor. 31 Oct.1857 - Died - In Halifax, on Saturday morning last, in the 62nd year of her age, Jane, beloved w/o John Putman, Sr; of Middle Stewiacke, leaving a husband and large family to lament the loss of a good wife and kind mother. 09 Nov. 1857 - Married - At Boston, 28th Oct., Mr. Robert Forman, Esq; to Louisa,eldest d/o the late Charles W. Tremain, Esq; of Fort Ellis. 21 Nov.1857 - Married - On the 10th inst; by Rev.P.G. McGregor, David Fisher, Brookfield, to Miss Sarah Brenton, of Middle Stewiacke.
