Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George and Abagail (Murphy) Brown. She was a lifelong resident of New Glasgow and a member of Trinity United Church. She is survived by her husband, Gerald; three sons, Elwood Butler, Cambridge, Ont.; Karl Butler, MacPherson's Mills; Harry Butler, Niagara Falls, Ont.; five daughters, Lorna (Mrs Granville Allard), Stellarton; Leona (Mrs Francis Levangie), New Glasgow; Sheila (Mrs George Denoon), Toronto; Hazel (Mrs Charles Kontuk), Westville; Beverly (Mrs Clifford Plummer), Niagara Falls; a brother, Edward, Lyons Brook; three sisters, Mrs Lil Gunn, New Glasgow; Hazel Brown, Hillside; Mrs Gertrude Neima, Dartmouth; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Laite; second husband, Martin Butler; a son, Ke! nneth Butler; three sisters, Anne, Georgina, Amanda. Funeral was held yesterday (Tuesday) at H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, Rev. Donald Murray officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart Fund.
