Born in Merigomish, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Christina (Grant) Olding. For more than 30 years she was a science teacher and vice-principal of New Glasgow High School, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow, where she was an elder. She was active in church and community organizations and was a member of the Session and UCW. She is survived by two sisters, Iona and Myrtle (Mrs Calder Fraser), both of New Glasgow; a brother, Lawrence, Merigomish; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert. Funeral service was in Trinity United Church, New Glasgow, Rev. Don Murray and Rev. Howard Clarke officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Merigomish. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Trinity United Church.
