He was a son of the late Elmer and Catherine (Grant) Proudfoot. He spent his early years in Eureka, Pictou County. He served with the Canadian Forces for 35 years before retiring, with the rank of master warrant officer. Since then, he had been employed as an administrative officer for the director of general works, National Defence Headquarters, Ottawa. He is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Deyell; two daughters; a sister, Mrs Audrey Kean, Eureka; three brothers, including Elmer (Bud), Eureka. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jean, Shirley; a brother, Grant. Funeral will be held Wednesday (today) in Divine Infant Roman Catholic Church, Gloucester. Burial will be in Renfrew, Ont. Donations may be made to any charity.
