    3. 25 April 1857 -Died- We learned from the COLONIST, that 3 young men- two of them named Geddes ( Alex'r and George); the third Aikins ( James, in his 18th year, s/o John, of Shubenacadie ) were, a few days since ( 20th April) drowned at the South Branch, Upper Stewiacke, whilst rafting logs across a Mill Pond. [ names etc. in brackets came from the PRESBYTERIAN WITNESS, of 2nd May]. 02 May 1857 - Died - The body of a man named Flynn, was on Thursday morning, found in the Long Wharf Dock. The deceased had formerly been a school master and was more recently engaged upon the city survey. He possessed rare abilities as a mathematici. A Coroner's inquest was held on Thursday and a verdict " Found Drowned" returned. Rumor says the deceased has left a considerable amount of money. [Is this possibly the man who taught school in Colchester in the late 1700's, early 1800's?] 09 May 1857- Died - At Musquodoboit, 24th April, inthe 80th year of his age, Adams Archibald, Esq; universally regretted.
