Hi folks, I am going on a much needed vacation.... to Pictou County (where else?) for hopefully a few weeks of sunshine, beaches and family history research. The timing couldn't be better as there is a garbage strike on here in Toronto, and the air is so bad it makes my lungs scratch when I breathe outdoors....... The surname registry will not be updated for the next two weeks, but if anyone wants changes or additions, send your requests along and I will attend to them as soon as I get back. (My old traveling laptop is running WINDOWS 95 and doesn't have an FTP program or HTML editor on it.) It may take a few days for me to answer any emails as I will be constantly on the go. Thank you Richard for the prompt posting (I just posted it this afternoon). I grew up as a military Brat and have lived all over the world. As great as that sounds it has left a serious longing to know what my roots really are. Just to let you all know what I have here it is. The only info I have so far is that my Great grandfather Robert and his brother Thomas were born in Nova Scotia and where from the Pictou area. They married two sisters from the New Glassgow area, CARMICHAEL, (Robert GORDON & Isabel CARMICHAEL and Thomas GORDON & Hannah CARMICHAEL). Robert was born about 1839 and Thomas was born, according to his obit, on Jan 12, 1842. Both came to the US and settled in the Boston area. I am not even sure where or when they got married or when the entered the US. I do have some information on the CARMICHAEL side but those Gordon boy's are just a brick wall for me. I don't know the parents or siblings or any thing else. Any help is greatly appreciated.
