Surnames: Dunn Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WOC.2ACE/2361.1 Message Board Post: Do you have any information on Reg Dunn's ancestors (Dunn Surname)? I'm certain that my grandmother Barbara Catherine Dunn and Reg Dunn's father Daniel were both offspring of Edward Isaac Dunn and Mary Catherine Clark of the Magdalen Islands. What I am having trouble finding information for is the parents of Edward Isaac Dunn. We do know that Edward Isaac had a brother George B. Dunn in PEI and 2 sisters Laura and Lydia. This has been a difficult group to find any concrete information for. Stories have it that Edward Isaac's father was William Charles Dunn who was a mariner and was presumed dead after 7 years of being "missing at sea" and then resurfaced. This information is not necessarily factual as we don't have anything real other then it being a "family story" or hear say. I would greatly appreciate any bit of information anyone has to offer on this family. Even other family "stories" would be great to hear and might possibly lead to finding something concrete. Thanks for the info on Reg Dunn and his family, it was wonderful finding something on a direct line relative. Patti

We will be going to the Halifax archives and Antigonish Museum for sure. Could anyone comment on the other 3 sites listed in the Subject line - how would those be for research i.e. would it be worth our time to visit them? Are they good genealogy sites? Thanks.
